Brittania-U is the operator of Ajapa field, one of the most successful marginal oil field in the country, with a current daily production of 2,300 barrels of oil per day.
The company currently produces 2.2mmscfd of gas from its Ajapa field out of which 1.8mmscfd is reserved to power the production system on board the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading owned by the company, while the balance of 400sctd is small to be used for anything, rather the company fixed sonic flare tip, which is the latest technology ever to be used in the country, which cleans out the poisonous element and emits smokeless air into the environment.
The company took advantage of the marginal field programme in 2003 when it won 100 percent equity in Ajapa field and by 2004 signed the Farm Out Agreement with Chevron/NNPC Joint Venture for the rights over the Ajapa marginal field on Oil Mining Lease 90.
